A Vintage Birds, Bees, & Brilliant Earth Wedding Theme

I was so excited when Brilliant Earth asked us to share their new vintage line of eco-chic jewelry with our readers. I’ve always been an ardent admirer of their business practices and beautiful conflict-free jewelry. While checking out their newly launched Belle Epoque collection, I fell in love with the graceful and romantic design of the jewelry. Admiring their Isis & Belle wedding rings, I had a vintage “Birds and Bees” wedding theme pop into my head which would make Lady Mary or Edith Crawley swoon with delight.

Imagine a formal English rose garden with stone benches, tables with stiffly starched lace tablecloths and silver tea service and you have the perfect background for this theme. Now let’s add some vintage touches to really make this garden wedding pop…

Green Bling – Va-Va-Vintage Jewelry

We start with Brilliant Earth’s vintage jewelry, the centerpiece of this garden wedding theme. Brilliant Earth’s Belle Epoque line (French for “Beautiful Era”) would fit right in at Downton Abbey. They are romantic and cultured, just like a vintage bride. A Downton dude would be smart to slip such a sweet ring on his lady’s finger.

Eco-friendly Spring Wedding – Beautiful Birds

For the vintage bird portion of our theme, layer in various avian elements – An Edwardian birdcage near the drinks station, scattered feathers among the table décor. You can use our bird’s nest seed bomb favors as an eco-chic place cards/favor. (Melissa’s note - The “eggs” in these little nests are actually seed bombs which can be used to plant a flower garden to attract birds and bees after the wedding.)

Eco-friendly Spring Wedding – Bountiful Bees

Honeybees are a frequent spring visitor in gardens everywhere. Pay homage to this busy worker by incorporating pastel yellow color elements into your tablescapes and featuring locally harvested honey and cheese appetizers & chocolate “honeycomb”. Your guests will be happy as honeybees to receive their Big Dipper honeybee candle favor to complement their bird’s nest seed bombs.
