Are you a country girl at heart? Eager to plan your own rustic chic wedding theme? Let our Green Event Expert shows you how to say I Do western style with several country-chic & eco-friendly event themes designed to knock the boots off of your guests!

Having grown up in Colorado and now living in Dallas, I have seen my fair share of amazing weddings with rustic-chic wedding themes. If you are one of the people who has always dreamed of getting married in cowboy boots in a red barn, let me share a few eco-chic and rustic themes you might consider for your big shindig.

Eco-chic Rustic Wedding Theme – Wonderful Woods

You can’t get much more rustic than the forest, woodgrain, and logs. Like relationships, there are no two woodgrains alike. Highlight this wonderfully unique medium by displaying it throughout your wedding from invitations to favors. No barn for miles? Consider renting a wooden backdrop from one of the many vintage décor rental companies like Sassafras & Flair. Set your table with Bamboo DeLights Candle Holders, All Occasion Veneerware Knives, Forks, Spoons & Bambu All Occasion Veneerware 9" Plate for a wonderfully woody look. Display your desserts on log slices or have a log inspired wedding cake to make the dessert table wonderfully woody.

Wood Cake

For forest favors, you have so many green choices from EcoPartyTime. Send everyone home with a sapling in our Miniature Wooden Box with Lid in Tree Design, "Tastefully Yours" Heart-Shaped Bamboo Cheese Board, or our Vintage Mini Mason Jars or Vintage Wedding Personalized Seed Packets with the Arrow and Heart design which features a woodgrain pattern.

Eco-chic Rustic Wedding Theme – Sassy Sunflowers

Nothing says rustic like sunflowers. They grow wild all over where I live. Bright and cheerful, they represent that couple who defies the odds and grows together despite obstacles. Use them as the eco-chic floral star in your bouquet, to accent your rustic event décor and even as a cake design. For your invitations, I suggest our Breathe Wedding design in yellow. You can get the invite, reply card, thank you card, and favor tag right here and the best part is they are 100% tree free & embedded with wildflowers so your guests can grow their own wildflowers.

Sunflower Card

Plant sunflowers in our watering cans, give seed bombs or plantable pocket notebooks for the perfect rustic floral wedding favor. (Melissa’s note - by picking local wildflowers as your wedding theme, you cut way down on the cost & carbon emissions used to bring non-local flowers in. I used the sunflowers as a theme here but you could use whatever local wildflower you have in your area).

Eco-chic Rustic Wedding Theme – Marvelous Mason Jars

You may not know of the massive comeback mason jars have had in event decor. Not just for Grandma’s canning and preserves anymore, Mason jars are now used in every aspect of country weddings as a sweet & simple reminder of a greener time. Couples can use Mason jars on their invites, like this one from Noted Occasions, serve their guests cowboy cocktails in Mason jars with our striped straws, and even use them as candle lights and venue décor.

Mason Jars

Looking for a great mason jar related favor? Give homemade jam or honey in one of our Vintage Wedding Mini Mason Jars or wrap a mason jar cookie, like this one from T. S. Cookies in one of our striped, chevron or polka dot bitty bags. You can use our divine twine to finish up your Marvelous Mason look.

Mason Jars

Regardless of what themes you go with, don’t forget the boots! You can’t have a rustic-chic wedding without them. We’d love to see pictures of your own rustic eco-chic shindig so please send us pics! :) Until next time, my party people, I wish you “Love, Laughter & Happily Ever After. . .”
